Locals say late autumn is the best time to be in Nainital. The rains have taken away the dust and crowds of summer. There is a nip in the air and the sun feels nice on the back.
Another thing I love about autumn is the beautiful flowers growing in several houses around town and also wild in the hills. Dahlia, marigold, chrysanthemum, begonia and fuchsia are a common sight in flowerbeds. Single dahlias adorn the hills side where ever flower pickers (generally small school girls) cannot reach them. (Flowers are good in summer too, but the light is better in autumn)
If you are visiting Nainital and can bear some cold, I suggest you go in late autumn.
