  1. Feeling homesick for Nainital I have browsed thru all the photos on the internet this evening. Yours were
the very best – giving a true perspective of the landscape. Congratulations. MY! how things have changed! I went to an English girls school in Nainital in the late forties – you were not born then. Nainital was a lush green natural paradise then – . I see nothing but stairways of nests of buildings now – overexploittation by tourism.
Thank God they cannot build on the lake.. tho you
never can tell in another fifity years! I would have liked to have returned to India and see Nainital, my childhood home, but I think it will be a great shock and shatter my beautiful memories. I live in beautiful Arizona now and love the wide expanses of the American Indian landscape – you would love them.Nonetheless,
I thank you for the excellent pictures you have taken and giving me the pleasure of viewing NT as it has become now. You are a Shah and probably born in NT and therefore have a natural feel for it.. Keep going! BK

  9. Hi Lokesh – Thanks for posting the beautiful pictures. I became nostalgic on seeing them. My story is very similar to BK who posted her comments way back in Jan 2007, although not that old 😉 My earliest memories are from childhood when I used to visit my grandparents in Nainital from Bombay (yeah, it was still Bombay then). The last I visited was in early 90s for my cousins wedding. I have since settled in Texas – another great state in the US.
I am planning to visit in March 09 and will definitely visit all the beautiful places shown here. Your pictures have made my resolve even stronger. You know as they say – Apni mitti ki sugandh saat samundar paar se bhi kheench laati hai.
And, you never know, I may bump into you !!
    Take care and god bless.
